KL's best banana leaf curry
What we say:
Bangsar is also home to a branch of Devi's Corner, which apart from the usual Mamak offerings downstairs, serves probably KL's best banana leaf curry upstairs.
If there is one local food experience which should be tried at least once by every visitor to KL, it is the banana leak curry. At its most basic, this meal consists of rice, south Indian curries, salads and chutneys, served on a banana leaf, all for 5-6 ringgit.
What sets Devi's apart, is not just the quality of the basic selection, but also the range of curry sauces to slop over your rice (four vegetarian and four non-vegetarian at weekends). Most other places in KL just offer just three choices (meat, fish and yellow lentil dhal). As you can appreciate, Devi's gets very popular, particularly at weekends, although not quite as mobbed as its nearby Hindu-run rival, Sri Nirwana Maju.
Bangsar Village is a twenty minute walk (or five minute cab ride) from Bangsar LRT on the Kelana Jaya line.
