Samira by Asian Terrace
Delicious food, poor location
What we say:
Everything about Samira is right -- romantic setting, attentive service, classy decor, fair pricing, and last but not least, delicious food -- apart from its location.
What sets Samira apart from many of its rivals, is that the food has not been altered too much for local tastes. This is proper Thai (and Laotian) fare, with favourites like tom kha (spicy cocount milk soup), and pad thai (sour sweet rice noodles), done reliably well.
Samira has several vegetarian options and is happy to adapt dishes where possible. It's hidden away in Sentul Park, on the grounds of what was once a huge railway depot, near the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC).
The nearest public transport is Sentul KTM Komuter station, from which it is a good 15 minute walk. The best option is to take a taxi (and combine with a show at KLPAC).
