La Bodega
KL tapas
What we say:
Kuala Lumpur isn't the first place that springs to mind when you think tapas, but if a tapas crave hits, don't fret, La Bodega will help.
While it is relatively easy to get good Spanish food in Kuala Lumpur, the most prominent local chain, La Bodega, lets itself down by being pork-free. Spanish food without the likes of jamon (ham) and chorizo (spicy pork sausage), is simply not the same. That said, La Bodega is still one of the best places in town for tapas.
The most accessible branch is Bodega @Pavilion KL, which, while being listed as on level three that actually means it is outside the main mall, down to your left as you walk towards the main entrance. The closest monorail station is Bukit Bintang, a five minute walk away. There is a second branch in Bangsar at 16 Jalan Telawi 2, T: (03) 2287 8318.
