Ya Kun Kaya Toast
A long-time favourite
What we say:
Since 1944 Ya Kun has been a favourite for the classic Singapore breakfast of kopi and kaya toast — sweet coconut-egg jam and thick slabs of margarine sandwiched between toasted bread.
The drinks aren't for calorie-counters either and, by default, coffee and tea are served with sweetened condensed milk -- if you want it black it's kopi o or teh o. Ya Kun can be found in most malls and has a simple lay-out with small tables and self-service at the counter. We love their retro posters with slogans like "Want a skinny latte? Stop at half a cup!" You'll find other locations at Funan Digital Mall, Raffles City, Orchard Central, Singapore Flyer, The Central, Changi Airport
