Hajah Maimunah Restaurant
Meal of a lifetime for a song
What we say:
Don't expect ambience or air-con at this nasi padang joint, just the meal of a lifetime for a few dollars. The food may be pre-cooked but it's mouth-wateringly delicious and most days there are more than 40 lovingly home-style curries, seafood, and veggies to choose from. Just point at whatever looks good and it'll be loaded onto a plate with white rice. If the options are overwhelming, the rendang daging (beef curry), ayam bakar (grilled chicken), and tahu telur (fried tofu) are guaranteed crowd pleasers. In case you want to compliment the chef the Malay word for delicious is "sedap".
