Komalas Vilas is perpetually busy and turns out the food so quickly and cheaply it feels like a vegetarian version of McDonalds. For something more substantial order the thali, a platter of rice with assorted curries, or try the second branch at Buffalo Road which has a more extensive menu. Komala Vilas has been around since 1947 and has attracted a loyal following plus a couple copycats — it is not the same as Komala's.
