Despite the price tag of nearly $25, people still rave about the chicken rice at Chatterbox.

The boiled chicken melts in your mouth and is served with fragrant rice, herbal broth and three kinds of sauces. Chatterbox serves posh versions of other hawker fare including nasi lemak (coconut rice with sides), tahu goreng (fried tofu), chendol (a local dessert) and a sinfully indulgent lobster laksa.

Chatterbox's location in a five-star hotel on Orchard Road gives it serious tourist appeal and the service is definitely better than your average hawker centre — whether the food is worth ten times the price is debatable.
