Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
Perpetually busy
What we say:
Opposite Clarke Quay MRT, Song Fa is a perpetually busy spot specialising in bak kut teh — literally pork bone tea.
Fatty pork ribs, a secret blend of herbs, and many hours of boiling result in a soup so flavourful you'll want to eat a large bowl despite the heat.
The soup is eaten with your choice of noodles, rice, or you tiao (dough fritters), or if you're feeling adventurous Song Fa is also known for pork organ dishes and braised chicken feet. Soups are available in two sizes and nothing on the menu costs more than $10.
