Boat Quay
Infested with touts
What we say:
This riverside strip of restaurants has the best views of the Singapore River but an unfortunate infestation of touts.
It's impossible to walk along Boat Quay without being harassed to eat at each restaurant, but if you're willing to deal with them you may get a free drink or a discount from the inflated menu prices — just make sure they actually apply it when the bill comes.
Boat Quay is known for its fresh seafood but you'll also find Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai and American restaurants, a couple of British pubs and live music at the Prince of Wales.
