The Tiffin Room
Colonial nostalgia and curry
What we say:
Get your fill of curry and colonial nostalgia during tiffin, a midday meal that has been a Raffles Hotel tradition since the 1890s.
The North Indian fare — tandoori chicken, lamb curry, samosas and plenty of vegetarian options — is tasty but the spice level has been turned down for mass-consumption. The service is impeccable for a buffet and white-coated waiters work the room refilling cups and serving piping hot naan bread. For breakfast and English high tea the offerings are more Continental with salads, sandwiches, scones and pastries. Buffet prices do not include drinks and a simple fruit juice will set you back over S$10. Reservations recommended.
