What started as a student hang-out showcasing local bands has grown into Singapore's premiere venue for small concerts with three locations in the city centre.

Timbre @ The Arts House has a stunning riverside location and attracts the biggest names (Bob Dylan performed earlier this year), but we love the original Timbre @ The Substation for its unpretentious crowd and a live band every night of the week. Service is not their forte so it's best to order drinks by the pitcher — you may not see your waitress again. Daily drink promotions and tasty thin-crust pizzas add to the appeal.
