1960s Singapore Food Trail
Sample Singaporean classics
What we say:
Sample Singaporean classics in a nostalgic setting at this new food centre at the base of the Singapore Flyer.
Enamel plates, faded signs and old furniture are meant to conjure up a 1960s kampung atmosphere and many of the hawkers have been cooking for even longer.
Long line-ups form to order the perfect renditions of popiah (similar to a fresh springroll), rojak (fruit salad in spicy tamarind sauce), fried oysters, chicken satay and prawn noodles plus childhood favourites like pisang goreng (crispy banana fritters).
Some of the antiques are for sale and a small green parrot will tell your fortune for $3.
