What we say: 
While there are a few other Mexican places in Bangkok, none of them come close to La Monita Taqueria's tacos.
Their tacos al pastor hit all the right notes for your correspondent, who, it must be said, works much better when Mexican food is close at hand.
La Monita uses good ingredients and goes easy on the sour cream and cheese — two ingredients that can be the death of Mexican food if overused. That said, this is really more of a Southern California/Baja California-style of cuisine than true Mexican food, but with a delicious margarita to wash it down, no one is complaining.
Starters from 150 baht, main dishes around 310 baht, tacos a la carte from 70 baht.
