Baan Khanitha Restaurant

Traditional central Thai food

Photo of Baan Khanitha Restaurant

What we say: 4 stars

Baan Khanitha serves up traditional central Thai food from a traditional wooden house set in a leafy green courtyard.

The air con dining room is furnished with Thai antique furniture and royal newspaper clippings from the 1930s and the back patio is shaded by palms and banana trees; both options make for a relaxing meal.

Baan Khanitha's food focuses on traditions from the Thai court, and they are most successful with dishes such as gai takrai (chicken fried with lemongrass) and chuchi pla tub tim, a whole tub tim fish deep fried, and served with a red curry and coconut milk sauce.

Baan Khanitha serves a small but adequate wine list. Starters from 160 - 230 baht, main dishes from 190 - 500 baht.
