What we say: 
Watch the Mekong slide by as you enjoy a meal or drink on the riverside promenade behind the famed Tha Sadej market.
With restaurants and bars open both day and night, you will always be able to find something to tickle your taste buds on this long stretch of sidewalk. The dining options here are plentiful and varied: you'll find Thai eateries specialising in som tam and grilled chicken or fish, an always-packed Vietnamese joint, rooftop bars, Western food spots serving some version of farang favourites and even a few dessert options. Take a walk along the promenade at sunset and you’ll find the bars gearing up for the evening’s live music and football matches. Though the music is often all too mediocre and many of the bars shut down relatively early, the promenade makes for a fair all-in-one spot for a pleasant evening out in Nong Khai.
