Fisherman's Reggae Bar
Loads of character and great sunsets
What we say: 
One of Ko Samui's most character-laden beach bars, Fisherman's is a shack perched on Bang Rak beach near Big Buddha and the fisherman's village.
Every inch of wall space inside is covered in reggae memorabilia and photos/notes of old customers from around the world, and a tame squirrel likes to hang around with anyone willing to throw it a piece of fruit. The bar is run by a chilled out couple, Ruay and Chai, who genuinely treat their customers like house guests.
Their 13 year-old son, Champ, is currently considered #2 in the ranks of Samui's poi (fire dancing) performers, and he practices on the beach in front of the bar on most nights starting around 20:00.
If looking for some eats to go with the cheap beer (50 baht) and cocktails (120 baht), Ruay works her magic in a kitchen smaller than most bathrooms. We recommend the "no name" off the bar's small Thai food menu, it's outstanding.
Bob Marley tunes, beach tables, cold beer, great food, laid back company, fire dancing and some of the best sunsets Samui has to offer -- is it any wonder we love this place so much?
