Although plenty of bakeries are to be found in the centre of the Old Quarter, seek out Anh Hoa Bakery, on the corner of Phoung Hung and Tran Phu.
This tiny place is worth the walk for the sesame topped loaves alone. But the deliciously beautiful cakes are enticing too and the staff is efficient and smiley.
With hardly enough room to squeeze in and view their wares, it's a strictly get in-get out takeaway place.
