I am from Argentina, and so to enter Thailand I need a yellow fever vaccination certificate. However, while I was there until a few days ago, I lost my certificate, and now I need to go back to that country.

I'm currently in Siem Reap, is there any safe place where I can get yellow fever vaccines in here? I return to Thailand in one and a half day, so I'm pretty desperate.

Itinerary Help

Hi all-

I've been following discussions on here for months, now that our trip is closer I wanted to post. My husband and I are coming to Cambodia for about 2 weeks at the end of August. Our current itinerary is:

Siem Reap/Angkor, 5 nights, 4 days
Kratie , 2 nights, 1 full day
Kampot, less than one day, no overnight
Kep, 2 nights, 1 full day
Phnom Penh, 2 days, 1 night

I was wondering if people thought Kratie is worth missing Battambang over? I don't think we have time to do both. It seemed like Kratie might have more to do/see than Battambang. Any opinions on this (or the above itinerary) would be much appreciated.

I will be traveling to Siem Reap on Dec. 23 and leave SEA on Feb. 2 from Luang Prabang and I’m hoping to get some good tips/tricks/does and don’ts from all you travelers.

I have traveled to SEA before but not for such a, relatively, long time. Here is what I have in mind and it would be great to get some feedback what I should / shouldn’t do, what to do and maybe places to stay overnight etc. I would very much like to volunteer somewhere on the way, I know I will again go to Big Brother Mouse in LuangPrabang.

I’m planning to stay maybe a day in Siem Reap (I have already visited Angkor Wat), then on to Battambang (boat or bus), down south to Koh Kong, Shianoukville, up to PP and on to Sen Monorom, Kratie and then…. to Lao. ...

Hey guys,

I'm going to Cambodia next week with my boyfriend and I really want to find a good homestay in either Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. We would like to experience traditional cambodian life. Were flying to BKK on Saturday and I'd really like to book it before then.

I'd really appreciate anyone who has knowledge of this that can help us out.

Thanks

Hi! I have been in PP a few times but never try to come back home by bus. I got some idea how to get to Thailand from PP via Aranyapradej border. And I also knew that apart from going by bus I can take shared taxi. So, is there anybody who wants to go Thailand with me on 6 or 7 Aug?

Thanks

I recently read a very insightful book about Cambodia called, “From the Booth to the Bedroom” by Douglas DeMarco.

It's a true story of an American finding fame in Cambodia. It's a first-hand account of how he became an overnight TV and Radio celebrity in Phnom Penh. It talks about his journey to find himself both physically and mentally.

His insights about the culture, government and the people, but especially the women of this Southeast Asian country. are at times shocking but, for anyone who has spent time in Asia, can be seen as an honest, heartfelt opinion. The strange juxtaposition of the story of his survival and rehabilitation in a place where the ghosts of so many still cry out for life and retribution is well worth reading ...

I'm in Cambodia for the next couple of weeks. I was hoping to bring home some alcoholic drinks for friends and family.

Are there any drinks that are illegal to bring into the UK? Is Mekhong whiskey allowed?

I know that some of these drinks are legal in the UK, such as absinthe, but outside the EU they are made differently, so it would be better to check first!

Also, does anyone recommend any particular drinks? Cheers.

Visited Cambodia for about 2.5 weeks last year as part of a ROTW trip and loved every minute of it. However, one thing we didn't do, which is I now regret, was a homestay on Tonle Sap. We did homestays in Peru, China and Vietnam, which were all brilliant, but from having read and seen some programmes on Tonle Sap and how the friendly locals eek out a living (catching water snakes etc), not to mention the natural beauty of the place, I reckon visitors to Cambodia should definitely try and squeeze this in on their travels.

Thailand And Cambodia- Where Best To Go?

Hi,

So we have almost 3 weeks to travel around Cambodia and Thailand. 2 years back we did Chaing Mai and down to the islands Kho Phi Phi and Krabi region. This time we are flying into Bangkok and headed immediately to Siem Reap. Here are our thoughts and we would love feedback of any kind of where to go or if we should even skip Thailand all together!

Bangkok- Siem Reap
Siem Reap- 4-5 days
Head down to Sihanoukville (can this be done in one day or should we stop at Phnom Penh?
Sihanoukville just a day and head to the islands Koh Rong for a few days.
Maybe head down to Kep? Kampot?

Not really sure after this point. We do want to do some scuba diving and snorkeling and thought we would head back to Thailand for that leg of our ...

I am going to Phnom Penh with 2 friends on August 23rd, for maybe 2 nights, before heading off towards Sihanoukville for some scuba diving.

I was looking at hostels on hostelworld and noticed that even the best rated places had a significant amount of mixed reviews.
Was wondering if anyone could give a recommendation or their own experiences.
Looking for cheaper options, but it doesn't have to be $1/night, and preferably close enough to attractions to make the most of our time. Also somewhat easily accessible considering we'll be taking a bus into PP and another bus out to Sih.

Also, what would be some stuff worth seeing over the course of 2-3days there?

Thailand To Battambang

Hi guys,
I want to go from Thailand to Battembang.

The most direct route would be crossing at Phsar Prom, motodup to Pailin, and then (according to what I have read) it is a shared taxi to Battembang with no bus available. Also the road condition is not so great, and at this time of the year, almost at it's worse. Also, if I can't find a shared taxi and I'm forced to take one on my own, it will be mega bucks.

So, first questions: anyone done this route? Do they accept evisa? (Doesn't look like it, but things change)

Alternatively, I could make the easier crossing at Poipet and get to the 'International Passenger Terminal' (that totally unnecessary & deserted monolithic building 2 ks from the border that always seems devoid of ...

(but the rest of me is!)
Hi there,
Can you believe it took 5 solid minutes to think of an appropriate title? Der...

Anyhoo - 48 year old solo female from Oz.
I have my return flight BNE to BKK booked.
Going to Chiang Mai first for a month, then to Cambodia PNH for 2 months. Where you come in is I have not got the leg booked out of PNH back to BKK as I have a few days to play with between leaving PNH (29 Oct) and BKK (1 Nov). (immig issue at airport coming in is my concern)
Some of the stuff I've read re corrupt practices at border crossings leaves me a little cold - so my 2 questions are:
1. How to get from PNH to BKK (found flight on airasia for US$61 (+taxes+luggage!!) - would you recommend the bus/ train and crossing at Poipet? ...

Hello everyone!

This'll be my first time in Cambodia, second time in SE Asia. I have a little itinerary I'm hoping to get some suggestions on. It's shorter than I'd like it to be; I did something stupid and divided my month off from work between Cambodia and Indonesia. So, I have a morning flight to catch out of Bangkok on the 10th.

July 28 - 30 :Phnom Penh (I wanted to stay longer, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that some old friends are interning in PP and are planning a trip to SR that following weekend)

July 31 - 6: Siem Reap. I really, really like ruins.

July 7 - 9 Battambang

I've heard that crossing from Battambang is a little less painful than SR, and I figure it would be a nice change of pace. I'd like ...

Hello all. I'm in Phnom Penh now (21st July 2011). I'll stay here for a couple more nights, probably until the 25th, then I'll take a bus to go to Siem Reap to visit the famous Angkor Wat!

Is there anybody here who wants to meet up/ split costs / travel together? Or anyone heading to Siem Reap next week??

I'm a sole male traveler and have learned that it's a bonus to have someone to share experience with.

Looking forward to hearing from anybody..,
