I had issues with this company about 2 years ago when I was trying to book a flight, and fortunately managed to get a refund and book my flight elsewhere. Others weren't so lucky. I uploaded the linked blog post at the time and have had a *lot* of comments in recent weeks (I guess due to the holiday season) having similar, or worse, issues.

Amusingly, a staff member from eDreams themselves commented for a while insisting that these problems were no longer the case and that they would deal with any issues as they arose. Amusing as it's clearly not the case and he seems to have disappeared again since the complaints have escalated.

Please, please check around for similar posts about eDreams before you consider using them. It seems ...

Far East Asia Tour Flight Help Please

Hi there.

Just joined the forum and looking for some flight advice, please.

I'm a British citizen (Manchester, UK) and thinking of doing an Australia/Far East Asia tour in a few months time, my first time outside Europe and North America. The plan would be to fly out to Sydney, then visit my friend near Brisbane. After that, I'd like to drop in on Japan (Tokyo), Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore before flying back home.

I'm looking initially to get a feeling for costs involved and the best way to approach the whole issue of travel between the various destinations. Would I be better booking individual flights between each place or are there multi-hop deals for travel between multiple Far East destinations?

Thanks

Wanting to book a trip but want to wait for Air Asia to hold another one of their big sales? If only you knew when the next one was due?

The Air Asia NZ Facebook page has a link to an article that provided an 'AA Yearly Promotion Analysis' that could be useful to know.

1) AirAsia launches the Zero Fares Promotion twice per year - roughly every 6 months or so (currently expected to be in mid-May and mid-November)
2) Travel period is usually 6 to 8 months away
3) Airport taxes, baggage, meals not included - obviously
4) Bookings made on the Zero Fares Promotion comes with restrictions - no change of name, date, destination - no refund
..
6) The most popular routes are often snapped up in accordance with weekend, public holidays, and ...

Hi fellow travel fisher(wo)men!
Just joined the site. Based in Bali. I'm The Rapping Professor www.rappingprofessor.com I am joining a Spirit of the Incas trip to Peru in August which does not include airfare. Therefore, I'm searching for good fares. I want to fly one way from Bali or Singapore to Lima, Peru Aug 23 flexible date, and then get to Brasil for a few weeks to search for an apartment to buy. Then fly back to Bali. And/or if anyone knows a good private travel club to recommend? I don't mind if there's a membership fee if it pays for itself in saved airfare costs.
And by the way, if any traveler doesn't use www.couchsurfing.org, s/he's missing out. I've just returned from a 6-week trip to Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Malta ...

The actual fare is around 3700 THB which is around 110 USD.

I would suggest to meet in Bangkok at the AirAsia Office or we do it by phone/mail.

I am flying from Japan to SE Asia in August and am scrambling to find the best place to depart out of (Osaka vs Tokyo) and also where to arrive into (Bangkok)? Is Bangkok the cheapest place to fly into from Japan? It looks like Delta and United are cheapest with Cathay Pacific being next in line for cheap cost. Does anyone have any advice on departure and arrival points as well as recommended airlines?
THANKS!

A while back, someone posted a link somewhere on the forum to a really nifty search engine that let you find flights to anywhere (even if you didn't know where that was, and were just after anything cheap!) just by typing in, for example, 'flights to thailand in march' or 'flights to anywhere in summer 2010'.

I can't find the original post, anyone remember posting or reading this, or know of the site separately? Any thoughts appreciated - thanks!

Being a fairly new traveler I am trying to find out if my treatment on my latest flights was the norm for airlines. My return flight home was cancelled for two consecutive days. The only thing I was offered was a discounted room voucher and a booking on another flight another day later. No food vouchers or even credit on future flight, as I finally had to rent a car to get home due to time limitations. Is there any other recourse I can try. The airline has responded that they can offer me nothing.
