Hi

I'm just wondering if any of these cards are worthwhile in SE Asia? I know its a bit off topic here but I'm also going to Australia and New Zealand after SE Asia. Also, if they are worthwhile can they be bought for cheaper in SE Asia?

Thanks

Air Asia: How To Claim For Delayed Or Missed Flights

I actually picked this up in a post by another member some time ago, buried in a thread about Air Asia, I think. I thought I'd give it it's own thread to help make people aware.

Air Asia have a policy that if one of their flights is delayed by more than 2 hours, you can make a claim, and be rewarded with a voucher for approx $USD60. (RM200, IDR500,000, etc).

From their Oct 2008 press statement:
"....making guests affected by flight delays of more than two hours eligible to receive an e-gift voucher. Each e-gift voucher is worth RM200 and may be used to buy a seat on another AirAsia flight or redeemed for any AirAsia product or service."

(I thought I had found info on their FAQ page earlier, but can't find it now.)

Hi there,

Has anyone ever purchased the travel insurance sold by Lonet Planet, WorldNomads (by BUPA)???? I'm about to do so, but would like to hear some other opinions. I'm based in the Czech Republic and it's been quite tricky to get it here, so I thought to get it online from LP.

I know there are a few foreigners in Korea who use this website so I thought I would share this...

Jinair, a new budget airline in Korea offers cheap flights from Seoul to Bangkok (starting Dec. 21)

About $270 one way and less than $500 round trip.

Prices exclude tax but seriously, this is about half the price that I normally spend on this trip.

I appreciate that there are several options to find cheap airfares, but the one I often use isn't listed on Travelfish.

For what it is worth, go look at:

http://www.airninja.com/index.htm

That site has most low cost carriers to/from SE Asia.

Rather than get the flight, it refers you to the low cost carriers scheduling that link. You then go explore those listed carriers.

Sadly, Chinese carriers aren't included (eg. Southern China). So, if you are intending to fly north Asia to SE Asia, the site only has facilities to explore Expedia, Orbitz & Kayak search engines.

Cheers
