Little more than a road with a bunch of houses and shops on each side, it's all about the tea, here in Moc Chau, which thrives on the mountainous hillsides, and has put the town well and truly on the map -- for tea fans at least.
The other reason it's on the map is that it's a possible place to break up a trip from Mai Chau to Son La, if you're taking it slow, very slow.
For the rest of us (all those coffee drinking fast travellers), there is a very low key 'Ecological Tourism Site' set on the mountainside along the northern side of the road through town -- but nothing much else -- and so little reason to slow down.
So, if you're in Moc Chau, contemplating a stay for the evening, we assume that you're travelling on your own steam and just passing through en-route to Son La and Dien Bien Phu -- if you can we'd say puch on.
If you have an honest reason to head here specifically, early morning buses to this place leave from the My Dinh and Luong Yen bus stations in Hanoi and will drop off here.
Cyclists in particular should take comfort in the knowledge there is accommodation available, but all should note that there's no baking here -- or at least none usable by foreigners.
This site was constructed out of 100% recycled electrons -- if you don't, you should recycle too!
