Tanah Barak Waterfall (Munduk Waterfall)
Powerful
What we say:
Better known as Munduk Waterfall, Tanah Barak is reached in about 20 minutes from a roadside carpark down a dirt pathway about 2km north of Munduk proper.
The path winds its way through dense jungle where it's possible to see a wide variety of plant and bird life before arriving at a ticket office where the entry fee needs to be paid should anyone be in attendance. A further 200 metres on the thundering 25-metre high waterfall comes into view, spraying right out of the side of the jungle into a shallow-looking pond that you can frolic in.
The view at the bottom of the waterfall is a good one, although hardly spectacular, and most people will feel content spending only a few minutes here taking a couple of photos and then returning to their vehicle.
The walk back to the carpark takes the same route as the arrival and is an easy climb for all but the most unfit.
Those with the energy can continue to both Melanting and Golden Valley waterfalls from here.
