Pemuteran beach walk
Stunning scenery
What we say:
Pemuteran Beach at first glimpse seems an ordinary affair, but push on for a walk and you'll be rewarded with some absolutely stunning scenes, especially in the late afternoon
All visitors to Pemuteran can get to the beach via the lobby of the Adi Assri. Once on the beach, head west and navigate your way past the armada of jukungs and other fishing boats. After walking for about 500m, you will start seeing signs from the bio-rock project, which is aimed at trying to speed up the regeneration of the reef by sending low-voltage currents into wire structures beneath the water.
Continuing west, you will leave all traces of the many seaside hotels behind and enter an agricultural area that fronts a coral reef with crystal clear water and an abundance of tropical aquatic life.
When you reach the temple on the hill at the western end of the beach, turn around and take in the stunning scenery. A turquoise-coloured bay sweeps before you and is overlooked by the lush mountain range of the West Bali National Park, a truly sensational scene.
Walking back the same way you came, you will have spent about 90 minutes on the return journey.
Have your say
