Seek out the prince for an experience
What we say: 
Kerambitan is home to two palaces of local significance — Puri Anyar and Puri Gede.
These palaces in themselves are only of passing interest and most travellers may not appreciate the significance attached to them by locals.
They are both home to a royal dynasty which is now in its 10th iteration. Within Puri Anyar lives the eccentric prince and you should seek him out if you visit his palace. His English is very good, his hospitality very warm and there is a possibility that you will be invited to a ceremony or function if there is one on in the immediate area.
Of course, this requires patience, a relaxed demeanour and a spirit of openness from the guest. One may notice the protocol of the prince's servant sitting on the floor or lower step when guests are present.
Visit these palaces seeking an experience rather than simply ticking off another sight.
Kerambitan is located between the main Gilimanuk road and the ocean, 7km west of Tabanan.
