What we say:

The name of this boutique means "little frog", a symbol of environmental balance, and it specialises in sustainably produced local goods.

The shop is located around the back of Phousi mountain near where many of the bars are these days and has a beautiful collection of silk dresses, mulberry paper notebooks, silver jewellery and embroidered linens, plus there is an art gallery upstairs.

Prices are moderate, but these are high quality items you certainly won't find being hawked on the side of the street. The great thing about this place is that it is set up with a genuine interest in promoting the real Laos outside of the main street of Luang Prabang.

Check it out and come away with a new appreciation for the country.
