Temples in Vang Vieng

A little bit of culture

Temple guardian

What we say: 3.5 stars

Vang Vieng certainly isn't the most traditional town in Laos, but it still home to some beautiful Buddhist temples.

On the main road through town, Wat Klang is a refuge away from the pizza joints with its beautiful murals and a collection of golden Buddha statues positioned around a Bodhi.

You can help the resident monks and novices with their conversation skills at casual English classes held weekdays 18:00-20:00. There's no need to sign up in advance: just show up at Wat Klang.

Past Wat Klang, Wat That has larger buildings with the traditional sloping roof with spires. Keep an eye out for some interesting statues like Yakshas, mythical guardian demons, holding speared human heads.
