Hajjah Fatimah Mosque
Unique architecture
What we say:
This mosque in the heart of Kampong Glam is unique for its architecture, which blends Middle Eastern and European styles.
Though it has the typical onion-shaped dome and prayer hall, it also has a very distinctive minaret near the Imam's quarters.
Also notable is that the mosque was named for a wealthy Malay businesswoman who donated her money and land for the mosque.
Visitors are welcome outside of prayer times as long as they're properly dressed — no shorts, or low-cut tops. There's delicious Halal food at the Golden Mile Food Centre next door.
