Hong Lim Park (Speakers Corner)
Best known for Speaker's Corner
What we say:
This green space in the middle of Chinatown is best known for its Speakers Corner, the one place in Singapore where free speech is allowed.
This works better in theory than in practice and you can read the sign with all the rules for a good laugh.
Requirements include that you must register your intention to speak, you must be a Singaporean citizen and you may not discuss religion.
Further dissuading potential revolutionaries, CCTV cameras were installed in 2009.
