Fish spas in Singapore

If you must.

What we say: 3.5 stars

Fish spas — where tiny “doctor fish” eat dead skin from your feet — are among the more bizarre beauty trends sweeping the world. Not only do they leave your feet softer and smoother, but proponents claim it improves blood circulation and relieves stress. If you’re curious to give it a try, here’s where to get nibbled on in Singapore.

Take a break from shopping to feed the fish.

Kenko Reflexology & Fish Spa is the leading chain of fish spas in Singapore with locations in popular shopping centres and tourist attractions. Their hygiene standards are impeccable and the water is treated by UV sterilization and ozone disinfection to kill any bacteria. The regular price is $20 for 15 minutes or $30 for 30 minutes, but Kenko often has promotional prices to encourage passersby to give the fish spa a try. The six locations are The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Tanglin Mall, 313@Somerset, Orchard Central, Marina Square and Singapore Flyer. Open daily around 10:00-22:00, with hours varying slightly by location.

A fitting location if ever there were one, Underwater World Sentosa has its very own fish spa. After you’ve explored the aquarium and seen the pink dolphin show, the “doctor fish” will nibble away the dead skin on your feet. It also makes a relaxing break if your kids are old enough to explore the aquarium on their own. A 20-minute session paired with a 20-minute foot massage (by a human) will set you back S$38. Open daily 10:00-19:00 (last appointment at 18:15). T: 6279 9229.
