The Battle Box
A must-visit for history buffs.
What we say:
Nearly nine metres below the hills of Fort Canning Park lies the Battle Box — an abandoned bunker used by British officers during World War II.
The bunker was rediscovered in the late 1980s and has been converted into a sort of museum with creepy soldier mannequins and an audio guide telling the story of Singapore's fight and eventual surrender.
The Battle Box is one of the few WW2 sites that haven't been sanitised and the tunnels are as dim and musty as they must have been during Singapore's last stand.
A must-visit for history buffs.
