Singapore Art Museum
Excellent
What we say:
Considering that Singapore is not known for its creativity and free-thinking, the avant-garde paintings, photography and sculptures by local artists at the Singapore Art Museum may surprise you.
Of course, the permanent collection also includes many classic pieces from across Southeast Asia and an ever-changing array of special exhibitions from international artists.
The museum strives to be a place to do more than just look at art, and there's always something going on like an art lecture, kids' art classes and film festivals.
Admission is free every Friday night after 18:00.
