Fort Siloso
Well worth a visit
What we say:
It's a little surprising to find a WW2 site on ultra-commercialised Sentosa Island, but Fort Siloso has guarded Singapore's port since 1874.
A tram takes you to the top of the hill where you can explore the gun batteries, old tunnels and barracks with informational videos, displays and Singapore's largest collection of war memrobilia.
The Fort's expansive grounds are quiet even when the rest of Sentosa is packed and have what may be the world's only military-themed playground. Free guided tours are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday and add to the experience.
