Bua Thong Waterfall

An out of town attraction

No pic at the moment -- Sorry!

What we say: 3 stars

This pretty three-tier waterfall runs over limestone and has absolutely crystal clear water -- keep an eye out for the freshwater crabs.

Set 3km off Route 1001, near the 48km marker, the falls are within easy walking distance of the small information centre and the lowest of the three tiers is only 150m downhill. If you are travelling down Route 1001 under your own steam this is definitely worth a diversion. Simple food is available near the information centre, making this a convenient and pleasant spot for a lunch break. The waterfall is more popular over the weekend, but mid-week you're likely to have it all to yourself.
