What we say:
Thong Nai Pan Noi
The standard array of beach activities can be enjoyed here. The swimming is great in this crystal clear water, and the soft sand makes for some comfortable sunbathing. Tropical Dive Club (http://www.tropicaldiveclub.com) located right on the beach provides PADI certification and fun scuba experiences. Hikers may enjoy the two km trek through tropical rainforest to Than Prawet Waterfall. The trail starts at Thong Nai Pan Noi and heads inland. Plenty of jungle and mountainous terrain in this area provide a number of lovely walks and other hiking opportunities as well. Boat trips can be arranged at most bungalow operations. These trips visit Than Sadet Waterfall, Bottle Beach and Ko Ma for some swimming and hiking fun, and lunch is included. The boat leaves at 11:00 and returns at 16:30 and costs 500B/person.
Thong Nai Pan Yai
Sunbathing, beach volleyball and taking advantage of the clear sea are the main activities on Thong Nai Pan Yai. Kayaks can also be rented (100-150B/hour) for exploring the rocky headlands on either end of the beach. Jet skis are available near White Wind on the west end of the beach for 2,000B/hour. Dreamland Divers runs a professional PADI-certified dive shop here for those who long to explore the lovely reefs and depths off the island but were tragically not blessed with gills. As with Thong Nai Pan Yai, boat trips can be easily organised -- see Thong Nai Pan Noi section above for more information.
