Diving

Several dive schools and charter companies are located across the island.

Many offer PADI dive courses, with training in resort swimming pools before venturing into Samui's clear waters. Once you are qualified, join a dive charter to explore excellent diving locations not far from Samui.

These include Ko Tao, Sail Rock as well as the Angthong Marine Park. Many of the operators offer packages, allowing you to book several trips during your stay at a reduced rate. Explore another side of Samui in the waters of the Gulf of Thailand, abundant in tropical fish, rays, dolphins and corals. Whale sharks are not an uncommon sight on dive excursions.

Note that most of the diving is done near Ko Tao, so if you are headed there anyway, you may be better served to do your PADI certificate there.
