Opposite Central Samui Village in Laem Set the Samui Butterfly Farm is located on a steep hill, in a pleasant floral garden covered by a high net to contain the star attractions.

The farm breeds its own butterflies, and has a fair selection of caterpillars, cocoons and adult butterflies. Go early in the morning as it is a steep climb to the top and it can get very steamy, especially for kids.

At the top you'll also find a small bee-keeping display and a souvenir shop – you can give this a miss as the trinkets are overpriced.

The farm is opposite Central Samui Village in Laem Set from a turning off the 4170 road.
