If you're looking for something else to do while you're in Dong Hoi, the Suoi Nuoc Khoang Bang Hot Springs are located about 40 km to the south-west of the city along Route 16. They're inaccessible due to flooding in the rainy season, but ask around before and after the wet months to see what the status is. We were unable to visit, but one report puts the water temperature at 100 degrees Celsius. Yikes! Admission is free, and tours can be arranged in town.
