Submission Guidelines

We are interested in lively stories focusing on travel in Cambodia, Laos or Thailand. If you puncture your story with active verbs, go easy on the adjectives and don't include more words than necessary to get your tale across, we may be interested. We pay a similar rate to the Bangkok Post and The Nation (around 3B a word, depending on the piece) for accepted submissions.

We will particularly pounce on stories that focus on:

  • Travel to remote areas;
  • Stories involving volunteering or giving something back to the community;
  • Food;
  • Unusual or challenging travel, such as bicycling from Yala to Udon Thani.

Guidelines:

  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to reproduce the piece within the http://www.travelfish.org domain;
  • You keep your story to 800 words or less;
  • Paste your text into the body of an email to submit;
  • If we wish to run your story, we will ask you to submit digital photos. If you don't have photos, we reserve the right to run an appropriate photo we have on file;
  • We reserve the right to edit your story;
  • We reserve the right to derive income from any advertising displayed on the same page as the story;
  • We will credit you and supply an email and link to your website;
  • We will give you a bio page, if you wish;
