100% original Asia travel intelligence authored by dedicated travellers who know what they're talking about.

Seeing a number of countries on a tour can be a huge time saver as there's no lost time dealing with border crossings -- it's all sorted out beforehand (in theory anyway). The main pitfall of seeing the region on an organised trip is trying to see too much in too little time. Check the suggested itinerary carefully -- and consider how much of your holiday you want to spend on the move. Unlike Europe, Thailand and Indochina are not suited to whistle-stop tours unless you plan on flying most of the legs -- bear that in mind when you're trying to fit four countries into three weeks. The more you try and fit in, the less you will actually see and experience -- LESS IS MORE!

On a regional tour, be sure to ask about the guide -- do you have the same guide the whole way through or different ones. Watch out for tours that combine different groups for parts of a tour -- this cost-cutting on the company's behalf tends to devalue the experience and make the trip feel a tad disjointed.
