Getting There and Away

To get to Na Hin from Tha Khaek, you'll have to scare up a tuk-tuk at the 3-kilometre market. Any bus going east along Route 8 from Lak Xao can drop off here.

There are more people leaving Na Hin on any given day than actually live in the town. Departures aren't that frequent, but you should always be able to get where you want to go -- all buses make local stops, so Vientiane buses will drop off at Paksan and Pak Kading, etc. Northbound buses head east first, along route 8, to the junction with route 13S at Vieng Kham, so if you miss the last Tha Kheak bus, try to get a bus that stops in Vieng Kham, and then catch a south-bound bus from there. The Na Hin bus terminal is just north of the market square. Buses to Lak Xao are your best bet for continuing to Vietnam -- you can catch a bus from there to the Nam Phao border, or a through ticket to destinations within Vietnam.
