Beaches And Islands Of Melaka
Getting there and away
Bus
To reach Tanjung Kling, take the Patt Hup bus (1.80 ringgit) from Sentral - a good landmark to watch out for nearby is the massive Everly Resort. Shah's Beach Resort is just a little further down the road.
Getting to Tanjung Bidara by public transport can be a bit of a headache, but it is a scenic trip. Start by catching a Patt Hup bus at Melaka Sentral to Masjid Tanah town (2.50 ringgit) -- the buses have their destination written on a piece of paper on the front window. From there transfer to a Tanjung Bidara-bound bus (more frequent on weekends) or find a taxi (10 ringgit).

Boat
For Pulau Besar, regular ferries to the island depart from the Anjung Batu Jetty about 10 km south of Melaka. Round-trip fare is 14 ringgit for adults and 10 ringgit for children, and the journey takes about 15 minutes. A taxi to the jetty should cost 30 ringgit, or you can take the SKA/MOS bus from Sentral bound for the town of Muar. Ask the bus driver to let you off at Anjung Batu (2.20, about 30 minutes) and then it's a 10-minute walk to the jetty. The jetty has a shady seating area, washrooms and a shop selling drinks and snacks.
