Bus

Buses out of Hanoi leave from the Luong Yen bus station at 08:00, one departure a day, 68,000 VND, and from My Dinh at 07:00 and 08:00, 78,000 VND. Buses to Dien Bien Phu also in Son La.

The bus station is located along the road into town, about 5 km from the town centre. Take note that you'll generally have to get up pretty early in the morning to get out of town.

Ninh Binh: leaving at 05:30 (extra departure at 06:30 every other day), costing 82,000 VND and taking 13 hours.
Thai Nguyen: leaving at 05:30, costing 98,000 VND and taking 15 hours.
Yen Chau: leaving at 09:30, 13:30, costing 32,000 VND and taking 2.5 hours.
