Free PDF travel guides for Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam
Free travel guides? More information please.
Travelfish is loaded up with over 70 free travel guides that can be downloaded in pdf format -- they're as up-to-date as the site and we call them eFish.
eFish are customised travelguides you design yourself for various destinations in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
They are available free to all Travelfish members and are available in a pdf format.
They contain virtually all the information in the Travelfish site (for the province in question) and are created when you request them, making them easily the most up-to-date hardcopy guidebook available.
Are they really free?
Yes, absolutely 100% free of charge -- you do need to be a Travelfish member though (which is also 100% free of charge). Note they may not always be free in the future -- so get in while you can!
How can they be customised?
There are three ways you can customise your efish.
Content
When you select the province you want to make an efish for, you can choose to not include (as everything is included by default) any of the following:
Vital Information (banks, internet cafes, motorcycle hire etc)
Accommodation
Bars and Restaurants
Attractions and activites
So if you are not interested in places to eat and drink, then simply uncheck the box and it will not be included.
Layout
All our efish come in A4 size, but you can choose between the following layouts:
4 column landscape
3 column landscape
2 column landscape
2 column portrait
1 column portrait
The 4 column landscape layout tends to fit the most material into the fewest number of pages.
Text size
There's nothing worse than trying to read a guidebook with miniscule text while sitting in the back of a truck bouncing its way down a badly potted road. With efish you can choose your text size, from very small, to small, medium and large.
How up to date are they really?
From the second something is added onto the site it is available for all e-fish downloads. As we're forever adding new content and updating existing content on the site, you're free to delete your existing efish -- freeing them into our pool of recycled electrons -- and grab yourself a new updated version. You can do it as often as you want.
With traditional guidebooks that you buy in the bookstore nearly all the information is often at least six to twelve months out of date at best, however with Travelfish efish, we can literally walk out of a restaurant, into an internet cafe, update the site and immediately that information is available for you to download in a new efish.
Can I see some efish samples?
Sure. Click on this link to download an old version of the Bangkok efish.
