Travelfish for ZoneAlarm users
ZoneAlarm is a popular firewall and ad-blocking program which can be used to "protect" one's personal computer.
Problems with ZoneAlarm's default settings
People using Zonealarm under its default settings may encounter a series of problems with Travelfish. These problems revolve around two areas, downloading and using our e-fish, and making a reservation with one of the guesthouses or hotels listed on our site.
In order to use our e-fish, you need to cutomise the setting for Travelfish within your Zonealarm program. This is done by going to Privacy > Site List and then scrolling down to the travelfish.org site. Once you find it, you need to click on Options and allow Web Bugs and Private headers (in the Cookies section).
In order to be able to make a reservation with a guesthouse or hotel listed on our site, follow the same steps as above, but in the "Ad blocking" section, you need to allow "Banner and Skyscraper Ads". You need to do this as the link for the reservation page is the same size as banner ad graphics and so ZoneAlarm rewrites the code (without our permission) to cut the image out.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Travelfish is supported (in part) by advertising and the commissions we make on reservations and other sales made through the site. We hope you see the value in our content and will make the above changes to allow you to get the most out of this site.
If you follow the above instructions and continue to have problems, please drop us a line and we'll look into it further.
