Where to stay in Pangandaran

Pangandaran

Pangandaran is chockers with accommodation options, mostly catering to weekenders from Bandung or Yogya. A backpacker enclave can be found at the northern end of West Beach where a handful of unnamed lanes run perpendicular between the beach and Jalan Pamugaran Bulak Laut, however many of the offerings here are showing their age and are no longer good value. Soulless highrise hotels are on the increase, but there are still several decent and charming choices for every budget. Prices rise on weekends and holidays, and if you plan on visiting over New Year or Idul Fitri you may need to book a year in advance (seriously) and pay a premium.

Here, a handful of double-storey bungalows house individually designed rooms bursting with personality. The stylish open-style interiors allow you to enjoy... We weren’t expecting to stumble upon Hau Eco Lodge when we visited Citumang. Locally known as Green Valley, one of Pangandaran’s natural attractions, Citumang is a good 17 kilometres from the shops, restaurants and beach scene of Pangandaran itself, but it is worth considering for a bit of a getaway—you will need your own transport though if you want to go out and about. ###15077 The...
