More on Ye

Located just below Starlight Guesthouse and facing the lake, the dingy old May Shan has clearly been around for a lot longer than foreigners have been visiting Ye.

Travelfish says:

Being so close, it is the standard fallback should Starlight be full. Barely adequate though is the best you can say for this spot and you’d probably be better walking down to Mya Myint Mo instead.

The fan rooms are cheap but cramped and musty while the air-con upgrades are overpriced. Being right on the lakeside road it can get a bit noisy too. The location of this little two-storey block is about the only thing it’s got going for it, though the owner is a friendly chap too. If the neighbours are full and you don’t want to pay 30,000 at the new hotel then this is probably a slightly better option than the equally grungy but less convenient Seikthana Guesthouse down by the river.
