Shwe Hin Tha Resort Hotel

Our rating:
4 stars, based on 1 expert review

Shwe Hin Tha Hotel is located on the southern end of Ngwe Saung Beach and consists of bamboo bungalows and a row of more upscale beach cottages.

The fan-cooled bamboo bungalows and simple but clean, and have cold water showers, mosquito nets and balconies -- some contain comfy king size beds. The downside to the bamboo bungalow rooms are the thin, nearly transparent, curtains that barely cover the windows. The more upscale rooms are closer to the beach, offer hot water and some have air-con. Staff advised us that they are never full during slow season, though it may be a good idea to call in advance to ensure your desired room type is available. The location is a bit far from the 'downtown area' but you don't have much of a choice. Staff are friendly, helpful and speak English very well and are able to assist with tours and onward travel. Breakfast is included in the room rates. Bicycles and motorbikes are available for hire. Unfortunately, there's no WiFi. We'd suggest booking in advance during busy season.
