The Pammawaddy Hotel is located on a quiet street and is one of the newer hotels in Pathein.
All rooms are air-con, with WiFi, loaded minibar, satellite TV, wardrobe and a telephone. The friendly staff members whom we dealt with both spoke English very well. All rooms are doubles, with your choice of king-size bed or two twins. Each floor contains a shared balcony that could be useful for reading or having a drink on while overlooking the city, though the view isn't too impressive from this side of town. Breakfast is included and food is available from 10:00 until 23:00, all in the form of room service. One interesting item on the menu is the 'fried person's nose', just FYI. The room price is lowered a little for each floor as you go up. Essentially it's a price break for having to use the stairs (or a fee for the luxury of not having to climb stairs, depending on how you look at it).
