About 100 metres closer to Taungoo than Myanmar Beauty, Mother’s House lacks the "forest setting" of Beauty, but its rooms are considerably better, cleaner, more spacious and better kitted out.

The rooms are set in a variety of layouts from freestanding bungalow wannabees through to two-floor units with rooms upstairs and downstairs. Rooms have proper beds with decent linen and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. In nearly all ways this is a better option than Myanmar Beauty, except that it has zero atmosphere and feels more like a business motel rather than somewhere you’re likely to kick back and chat to other travellers. Prices are comparable, but those on a tight budget will find cheaper fare at Beauty. Overall it is a fine line between the two, but if cleanliness and mod-cons are important to you, this is probably a better choice. The management can also assist with renting a motorbike with driver.
