Stung Treng's stab at luxury
A large, four-storey hotel, with a working lift, and views straight out on to the River San, Golden River is Stung Treng’s highest end accommodation - it doesn’t get grander than this.
The relatively modern hotel offers large, clean, well-cared for rooms, some of which have pretty decent views, and attentive, helpful English speaking staff. The rooms are modern and well fitted out with TV, hot water bathrooms -- with bathtubs -- and painted in a beautiful shade of pale, mossy green.
Rates depend on whether you have a river view, or the room looks back out on to the town, or whether you’ve lost all reason and opted for a VIP room with the giant furniture. The Golden River wouldn’t be our first choice in Stung Treng, but if you’re looking for standard and predictable lodgings, this is a reasonably safe bet.
