A new level of style for Koh Rong Samloem, The One offers 20 villas arranged in rows backing away from the beach, all designed to very high specifications with plenty of space, air-con and 24-hour electricity.
This is luxury.
The bungalows are all wood, with thatched roofs, glass-fronted walls (to keep in all the delicious cold air) and a modern look despite the choice of building materials. The ensuite bathrooms are grey tiled and very stylish, with beautiful fittings. Unusually, the rooms all have televisions as well.
The rooms range from the 25 square metre jungle bungalows at the back, to huge 60 square metre seaview bungalows on the front row. The prices are commensurate with other properties of similar standards on the beach.
The very charming neo-Mediterranean style restaurant offers up a wide range of Khmer and Western food at not unreasonable prices considering the location — a burger is $9, pizza $8.50. And it overlooks the pool, which is the only pool on the island as of mid-2016. However, you can only go for a splash in it if you’re also a guest, meaning it’s not going to be mobbed.
A classy destination, with less of the character of Secret Paradise
, but plenty of style to make up for it.
